Healing Mind, Body, and Spirit: Exploring Holistic Postpartum Care

You may have noticed that I use the term holistic when describing the type of postpartum care I provide. What does this mean, and how is it different from the care provided by a postpartum doula?

Holistic care means we are looking at the whole person being cared for: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. We recognize that all of these aspects are interconnected and must be tended to for optimal healing and recovery.

As a holistic postpartum care provider, my role goes beyond that of a postpartum doula. While I do provide practical assistance like making snacks, cleaning your home, or holding your baby, my primary focus is on caring for you as a person. I want you to have the time and space to bond with your baby while feeling deeply nourished — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Together, we'll address your unique needs as you navigate the physical and emotional exhaustion that comes with this life shift. My goal is to meet you where you are and provide healing modalities that support your body's physiology for optimal healing: nourishing bodywork, nutrient-dense foods, honoring of your journey, and holding space for you to come in to yourself in this new way.

With each visit, we'll tend to what needs tending, whether it's your physical recovery, emotional well-being, or the development of a healthy attachment with your baby. Whether you're a first-time parent or a seasoned one, every birth is a rebirth, and you deserve the deep level of healing and care that holistic postpartum care can provide.
